Motability is a government-funded organisation that helps disabled drivers remain independent by allowing them to use their mobility allowance to lease a car.

Contract Hire?

Contract Hire is a leasing agreement for three years which covers your Volkswagen Motability car as well as after sales care, insurance, tax and breakdown cover.

Am I eligible?

If you receive either the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement, you could be eligible for the Motability Scheme. The scheme enables you to exchange part or all of the allowance for a new Volkswagen Motability car of your choice.

If you are unable to drive, you can nominate two people to drive for you and parents or carers of a child with a disability can apply on their behalf. If you choose the Contract Hire option, you must have a minimum of 12 months’ award length remaining on your allowance. For Hire Purchase, you must be receiving your mobility allowance for the full length of the leasing agreement.
